Somizi Mhlongo Addresses Illuminati Claims

Somizi Mhlongo has poured cold water – or should we say hot bath water – over the wild rumours that he’s a member of the Illuminati.

Last Saturday, 1 July, the entertainer/choreographer turned heads with not one, but SEVEN outfits at the Durban July. From an alien-inspired suit to an all-blue ensemble, he truly adhered to the event’s “Out of This World” theme.

However, fans somehow took these outfits as a sign that Somizi was part of the Illuminati, a secret society with supposedly nefarious intentions. Many celebrities from Beyoncé to Nicolas Cage were previously accused of being members.

Somizi shrugged off these rumours in an Instagram clip posted on Wednesday, 5 July – from the wallowing comfort of his bathtub, he said: “There was a point when I would see videos of Beyoncé and others [accused of being Illuminati], and there’s a part of me that believed them until they started saying I am also a part of the Illuminati.

“Now I understand why they would think that – there are people who cannot fathom the light and shine of other people! It is so bright, it makes them think it’s unrealistic and it can’t be from this world.”

In other words, the Illuminati has nothing to do with Somizi’s fame and success – and not least his style!
